In Search of the Perfect Human Diet
I was fortunate enough to be introduced to CJ Hunt a few months ago via email after, in a presentation to restaurants on the benefits of Grass Fed Beef, my buddy mentions to the group a movie that he said, “Was the fulcrum in the Paleo Diet equation…the proof that Paleo Lifestyle Design was the proper way to eat. The movie, still in production at the time, was “In Search Of The Perfect Human Diet”.
What makes this movie so stirring is that it was not made with proving the Paleo Diet in any way. It’s billed as “An unprecedented global exploration for the solution to the pending #1 killer in America”.
CJ Hunt, professionally a Broadcast Journalist, has over twenty-years in broadcasting, voice overs, television, live events, and is the author of two books on diet and health. The documentary evolved from his true-life story, beginning in 1978 when paramedics brought Hunt back to life at the age of 24 after a cardiac arrest he had while jogging.
It was this incident that evoked an intense passion to find out how we can all achieve longer, healthier and happier lives and share that with others.
It’s a beautiful, stirring production. In Search of the Perfect Human Diet doesn’t recycle what we’ve already seen elsewhere and repackage. Instead, CJ and crew traveled the world and filmed interviews and explorations with many of the world’s top scientists and researchers in the fields of archeological science, paleo and forensic anthropology, nutrition and metabolism, biomolecular archeology, and the emerging field of human dietary evolution.
If my kid were to ask me what all that meant, I’d tell him this, “This guy travels all over the world for ten years, interviews scientists who actually study what we ate going back some 30,000 years. These scientists use these amazing tools to analyze bones of people who lived in all time periods going from now all the way back to Caveman. Not only can they tell what they ate, they can tell the KINDS of protein they ate, and how much was in their diet!”
Fascinating isn’t strong enough when the proof of our ancestral diet is outlined on a timeline based on a 100-yard football field with Dr. Loren Cordain. He takes this footage and proves the analogy by then going to the scientists and analyzing diet…kind of like counting rings on a tree, except with a super-powered computer that breaks those rings apart and says, “Look, Grok liked Fish!”
Spend a few minutes with this official trailer:
Next week itsPALEO.com is releasing a phone interview with CJ as the DVD Pre-Orders are now available at the movie’s website, www.PerfectHumanDiet.us
If you want to know a bit more than we’re eating the way our ancestors were programmed to, you need to watch “In Search of the Perfect Human Diet”.
In fact, I’d go so far as saying that In Search of the Perfect Human Diet is required viewing for Paleo Lifestyle Design.
There’s no sales machine in this movie. It’s a quest for the facts from a guy whose ticker gave out on him, he was given another chance, and he spent that chance finding answers to keep his, and your ticker ticking. Sound like a good way to spend an hour and a half so you can benefit for a lifetime?
